The MFCA is proud to announce the 2014 Hall of Fame class and 2013 Coaches Awards. Hall of Fame inductees are: High School Division: Jon Bakken, WEM,  Mike Grant, Eden Prairie, Tom Idstrom, Anoka & Irondale, Dave Nelson, Minnetonka and Larry Thompson, Lakeville South, Citation Division: Dave Fritze, Eagan and Marc Trestman, Chicago Bears.

On the evening of the fair, high school coaches will have a table and chairs where they can meet and discuss their prospects with the college coaches.  IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING THE FAIR, EMAIL JEFF FERGUSON ( by April 1st  AND A TABLE WILL BE SET UP FOR YOU. If you are attending the fair, it is a good idea to bring film to hand out and academic information about the athletes.

Wireless is available, so you can also bring a laptop and share film. We cannot include academic information in our booklet.

Each HS coach that registers and attends will also receive a copy of the book.

College coaches will receive a prospect book with data on over 800 class of 2014-15 prospects. The data will be available as a database on March 15 to any colleges that have paid their registration. A book version of the data will be available on the evening of the Recruiting Fair.

Jeffrey Jones, a running back, slot back and safety from Minneapolis Washburn High School (Minneapolis City Conference) was named Mr. Football for 2013 by the Minnesota Football Coaches Association (MFCA). The award was presented at the Mr. Football Banquet on Sunday December 8 at the Doubletree Hotel in St. Louis Park.


First presented in 2004, the Mr. Football Award is an annual award recognizing Minnesota’s best high school football player. The Mr. Football Award is sponsored by the Minnesota Football Coaches Association and the Minnesota Vikings.


Jeffrey Jones is the tenth player to receive the Mr. Football Award and the first from the Minneapolis City Conference. His head coach at Minneapolis Washburn was Giovan Jenkins.  Full Press Release

Minnesota Football Coaches Association Takes Steps to Help Families, Coaches, Counselors with Recruiting

The Minnesota Football Coaches Association (MFCA) is proud to provide a new nonprofit service designed to assist families in being properly educated about the athletic collegiate recruiting process.

The Recruiting Education Foundation Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit venture, is now providing the MFCA with recruiting webinars for high school student-athletes and their families in the state of Minnesota. The webinar is available at no cost.
