Minnesota requires 125
clock hours of professional development in the five years preceeding
license renewal. It also requires that 30 be in the specific
license area. Most license renewal committees will recognize MFCA
clinic attendance towards the 125 clock hours* They may also
recognize clinic attendance towards the 30 hours in specific
licensing area for physical education*. In addition to clock hours,
the state has a number of other requirements including 2 hours in the
area of mental health (see below). For more information see your

The state license renewal requirements includes on hour in
the area of
"understanding of key warning signs for early-onset mental illness".
The Jason Foundation Youth Suicide & Prevention program offers
an online staff development session which includes a completion
certificate which you may submit to your license renewal committee

MFCA Team Camp Grant
This grant provides $500 for a high school to invite another high
school staff to assist in the providing of a team camp.
