Willie Taylor

In his first year as a Head Coach, Taylor guided Mounds View High School to its first State Tournament birth and a 2nd Place finish. Mounds View reached the State Tournament once more in 1994, and along the way, enjoyed three conference Championships and two Section Championships. In 1998, he was hired to take on the St. Paul Central program. In two short years, he led Central to nine straight conference championships. Central's teams would also win five Section Championships, four of those trips to the State Tournament happened in succession from 2005-2008; with back to back State Championships in 2007 and 2008. The 2007 season was considered by many as one of the best teams in Minnesota State history. Taylor led his squad to a perfect 32-0 mark. Taylor also spent time as an assistant coach at St. Paul Harding and DeLaSalle High Schools and has been a member of the Miss Basketball Committee since 1993. Taylor is the father of three; Prentice Taylor, Nicholas Campanella and Julia.
