State Meet and Year End Awards Info

Section Academic Award applications are due to Fred Kueffer by Friday February 10th. The form can be down loaded from the MN Nordic Ski Coaches Assoc. website. You can email this directly to: fredkueffer@isd623.org

The annual Charlie Banks State Relays will take place on Wednesday February 15, 2012. Bib pick up will be at Noon, the boys relay at 1:00PM and the girls relay at 2:00PM. You may enter more than one team of boys and or girls, but must designate your competitive team. The race is limited to 40 boys teams and 40 girls teams. You may register your team(s) at http://www.boreal.org/~durfee
Registration closes on Monday 2.13.12 at 8:00PM

The State Coaches meeting will take place at 4:30PM in the Sports Dorm.

The annual State Meet banquet will begin at 6:00PM. Tickets are $15.00 and will be available at the coaches meeting and prior to the banquet. 

Mike Hecker has agreed to put a slide show together for the banquet. Here are the guidelines to follow if you have a team or athletes that qualify for the State Meet and would like to be included;

MN State High School Nordic Ski Coaches’ Association

Mission Statement

1. To develop and promote nordic skiing opportunities for Minnesota high school skiers on a competitive basis.

2. To establish and support uniform and equitable rules for high school athletes in nordic skiing.

3. To act as a vehicle for Minnesota coaches to communicate with the MSHSL regarding rules, regulations,and section and state meet format.

4. To elevate standards of sportsmanship and to provide youth with leadership role models through coaches, administrators, and other adult team personnel.

5. To maintain good communication and relationships with all agencies involved in developing nordic skiing and to unify efforts among these groups.

6. To promote coaches' education and be a source of information for nordic skiing at all levels.
