SCHOLARSHIP
INFORMATION
   
The Minnesota State High School Coaches Association will again be awarding $1000 scholarships to deserving student-athletes from Minnesota High Schools.
This is the ninth year of the scholarship program.  Nearly 50 $1000 scholarships have been granted to boys and girls from various schools in the state of Minnesota.
The number of scholarships to be granted will be determined at a later date with consideration given to the state of the budget for the upcoming year.
Announcement of the winners will appear in the May issue of the Minnesota Prep Coach and in time for announcements at spring graduation ceremonies.
Opportunities are available for all boys and girls in any Minnesota High School.
The limited selection criteria includes the following:
 
  • Must Have a GPA that would equate with an honor student.
  • Applicant must have participated in High School Athletics through their 12th grade year.
  • Submit a one page letter outlining the role sports has played in your life.
  • Submit the application form no later than March 28.
  • Submit a letter of thanks to the MSHSCA upon notification of the scholarship award.
  • Submit a letter of thanks to the Corporate sponsors who have helped to make the scholarships possible.  The Corporations that provide assistance are as follows:

  2. Gatorade

  3. McDonald's
Details, including the names and addresses as to whom to contact with a letter of thanks will be provided, to the recipients by the Office of the Executive Director.
Winners will be selected by a committee co-chaired by Jay Johnson, Eden Valley-Watkins H.S. and Gregg Martig, coach at St. Cloud Tech H.S..  The applications will be screened to guarantee the criteria has been met including the submission of a high school transcript.
The scholarship application, included, may be used as often as interest dictates.  There is no limitation to the number of applicants per school.

Applications must be submitted and postmarked by no later than March 28.  It is strongly suggested that applicants act early.
