The Minnesota Track Coaches Association presents its annual Track & Field Clinic for coaches education at the Double Tree Hilton in Bloomington. January 26-28, 2012. Cost: $90.

Come early (Thursday 1/26 - 8:00 pm) for our Pre-Clinic Social!

Keynote speaker: Boo Shexnayder - Former LSU Jumps Coach now Director of the USTFCCCA Track and Field Academy. Boo has coached 19 NCAA Champions, as well as several Olympians and World Champions. He was the Team USA Jumps Coach at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Other notable speakers include:

Don Babbitt - University of Georgia Throws coach

Dr. Donald Chu - Stanford University, Plyometric Training Guru

Holly Thompson - High Jump Specialst

As well as many of the talented high school coaches!

Friday night Association Meeting, Banquet, and Social are also included in your registration.

2011 Academic Awards

Academic All-State – Individual Download Form

To qualify for this award your athlete must have a minimum GPA of 3.6 on a 4.0 scale and meet at least one of the following performance criteria: 1) meet or surpass the honor roll standard in their event, 2) attain all conference status in their event, or 3) qualify for the 2011 MSHSL state meet. If your athlete qualifies, please fill out the linked form and bring it to the coaches tent at the state meet to receive their certificate.

Academic All State – Team Download Form

There are two levels to qualify for this program, Gold or Silver. In each case you take the average of the 10 highest GPAs of the members of your first round of MSHSL competition , either your sub-section meet or your section meet. GPAs must be calculated on a 4.0 scale and must be cumulative from the start of ninth grade until the end of the current year and be verified by a school administrator. If your teams average is 3.75 or greater, you qualify at the Gold level, and average of 3.50 to 3.749 qualifies you at the Silver level. If your team qualifies fill out the linked form and send it to me at the address (email or snail mail) found on the form no later than the first Saturday after the MSHSL state meet. I will then forward the results onto the MHSCA and they will send your AD the award.
