DIG THIS!
By: Jim Lee
Geez, did I make a mistake
yesterday!
I don’t remember what it was,
but I know I made a mistake.
Nobody died, lost a limb, or
went to jail--but I know that I made a mistake.
But mistakes provide SO many
opportunities to learn! That mistake may have allowed
someone else to learn a valuable lesson or it may have
allowed someone else to correct my error and become a hero
for a moment or meet a new friend. But the whole key is to
learn from the mistake and move on.
One mistake that you can’t
afford this summer is to miss our Minnesota Volleyball
Coaches’ Association Clinic!
Our preseason volleyball clinic will be held at
St. Cloud State on July 29th and 30th.
The clinic will begin in the afternoon on Wednesday, July 29th
and will lead up to the All-Star Match at 6:30pm that
evening. Within the short interval between the last session
for Wednesday evening and the start of the All-Star match,
we will be providing “a casual dining experience” which
should provide a bridge for your hunger pains until the
social at the Kelly Inn after the All-Star Match.
Thursday, July 30th
will also be filled with numerous speakers including the
well-respected Pete Waite from the University of Wisconsin.
Coach Waite has guided his squads to nine consecutive NCAA
tournament appearances including a 2nd place
finish in 2000. Coach Waite has molded 10 All-Americans
that has allowed his teams to be consistently ranked among
the top 25 teams in the nation. Coach Waite is highly
admired amongst his colleagues, and we are truly
appreciative of him presenting at our clinic!
To hear what makes Coach Waite’s teams so
special, you can access the clinic’s registration form at
http://www.mshsca.org/volleyball/VB_Clinic_09.pdf and
attend any of his sessions on July 29th and 30th.
Or if you prefer a more social dialogue, join the many other
coaches and Coach Waite after the All-Star Match at the
coaches’ social which will be held at the Kelly Inn.
The schedule for other renowned speakers at the
clinic will be posted in the future at
www.mnvbca.org. In
other news, rules interpretation meetings will be conducted
on-line this fall. You will no longer have to attend a
meeting with a clinician. Details will be provided in the
future at:
www.mnvbca.org.
Leaving this world with no
regrets is possible. Leaving without making any mistakes is
impossible. Don’t regret the mistake of missing out
on this opportunity to rub elbows with your colleagues while
eating chicken wings, writing down points of interest from
devoted speakers, or debating the next great issue in our
highly-acclaimed sport of volleyball! |
